Llungen Lures/Musky Armor It all started when two anglers got together to do some musky fishing. Most days conversation on the water amounts to boat filler in between the pursuit of ones passion or addictive hobby. However, this day was different from the start for a serious discussion about the musky industry, tackle, accessories, lures, guides, resorts, destinations etc. took place. After a long examination both anglers came to the conclusion that what would be ideal for the musky industry would be to provide quality products at affordable prices. Could it be that simple? Could it be done? Was the discussion a dream or a quest?
The avid angler then told his boat partner his idea about developing a gill raker glove. The development and production of the glove became the statement of what Musky Armor is all about. The commitment, quality, and value of what went into the companies first product set the building block for the companies future.
The first step in making the glove was to plan out how to take a concept and make it a reality. Many glove patterns were selected and tried to find one that provided the best fit. Notes were taken and ideas were shared on how to improve the selected pattern. The next step was to select a material that was thin, durable, un-shrinkable, soft, and odorless . A suitable micro fiber was found that met the criteria and would allow the angler to have the natural feel of ones hand.
Next, a sample was made for field testing. This required countless hours on the water catching a lot of fish. After one incredible season of musky fishing, the product was tried and tested. Soon in planning production the item was priced based of the initial quest and made affordable. While the process of bringing a product to conception might not be that easy the direction of providing quality at a affordable price.
Musky Armor continues to develop new products under the same conditions as it did on it's first project. In December 2005 the company acquired Llungen Lures allowing the entry into the lure business.
